Silver Is On A Tear Today

I read an article once by a metallurgist who estimated the Lone Ranger would have needed dozens of Colt Peacemakers to make the series as the silver bullets would wear the barrel out 90% faster than lead and create overpressure potentially leading to cylinder or barrel failure. If he used a lead mould the bullets would be smaller and create gas erosion in the barrel too.
However if dealing with Vampires I guess you wouldn't need to use them too often.
I have a feeling I read this in the old "Gun Report" magazine. I have every copy back to when advertisers would say about gun show venues that you could wear trail clothes in their motel and TV was promoted as some kind of novelty.
On the silver front the market is being manipulated and if you look at the price in Shanghai you will see it is more expensive than Comex or the London Market and that is because they hold physical stock and not paper.
China ostensibly banned the export of Silver in January reclassifying it as a strategic material. Something is coming......

HOWEVER, a clean shot wound is
not as effective as a fragmenting / splattering bullet! Much more impact, and the impact has a lot more energy…

I remember that / those episodes.

but, I do not see how silver is more pure than gold…. Besides, I betcha if I put a 1 ounce .9999 silver coin and a 1 ounce .9999 gold coin on the table, and asked if you wanted to KEEP the more pure coin, I think I know which .9999 PURE coin that 99% of folks would take :)

Of course they’d pick the gold. But in the movies silver is more shiny and reflects light better than gold, hence it’s more pure. Not in refinement, just in general appearance.

Silver reflects very well in movies, particularly sterling silver at .925 purity (the copper is not visible at this level). It brings elegance to a scene. Regarding gold, .9999 gold jewelry is absolutely stunning. In person at least, pure gold has a slightly orange hue that contrasts with the more yellowish honey color of 14k or even 18k gold. It's on another level in my opinion.

Nobody knows the future, but with an attack on Iran very likely, we will probably revisit $100 shortly.

I was wondering if the slight drop in gold and silver was because The State Of The Union address was tonight. Within 15 minutes of the President talking both are up. I’m wondering if here is a relation. :)

State of the Union is timid! Should of heard nutbar Putin today. He spouted a conspiracy of France and UK secretly shipping tactical nukes to Kyiv:eek: You cannot make this up, I guess after his famous quote on Feb. 24th. 2022, he said to his military general staff, gentlemen we will have lunch in Kiev, even planned the WW2 Victory Parade there! Err.....not exactly:D

I really don't know what to make of the PM market. For how long, etc.
I'm using to stock trading etc.
I pulled out of BitCoin when it spiked to 1,900
but I don't plan on selling my physical PMs But the paper stuff ... still holding as it's above my entry price. So ... I'll just keep letting the market play itself.

The only gold collection I have ever assembled is the $2.50 Indians. I still have it. Only one I can afford to assemble. Lol

I have collected AV coins since I was 8. I used to get cheap gold coins like Sovereigns, French Marianne 20 Francs, Swiss 20 Francs, Austrian restrikes, when you re a kid, its special. Once I got a job, I was stupid and not knowing any better, I started collecting Franklin Mint proof sets/ coins. My first Proof set was the Iran 2500th set 1971 4gold/ 6 silver.
Then I started buying coin world magazines. This led me to a new world of numismatics:D
I saw a 1969 Biafra 5 piece Proof Set/ Valcambi Mint for $1100 bucks, and wow it was neat, biggest coin 90g. gold.
Then, I saw ad NFA auctions, I wrote them to send a auction catalogue. They said OK, they would send catalogue for upcoming auctions. In the meantime they sent me ancient gold coins on approval. I ended up getting my first ever classic coin a Solidus in MS quality Justinian I @ $65.00, also got a common Maurice Tiberius in MS for $45.00. Later I won better coins in their auction like FDC Constans solidus Treveri Mint for $900.
Soon I started getting Tkalec catalogues, Stacks, Paramount....getting known I guess. My first really good coin was this MS Elagalabus aureus. The coin featured in CNG Triton II had estimate of 7-18KUS. I put a bid of 7K, thinking I had ZERO chance. Well a week after the auction, I got a letter from CNG, I was shocked, I won it! Now, I am at approx. 1500 EL/AV coins in my coll./ this is why I want the gold price way lower. IMG_0690.JPG IMG_0694.JPG IMG_0690.JPG IMG_0694.JPG

I received my roll of Franklins today. I'm ready in case we go to war with Iran. They will provide me with good luck, and, if the conspiracy theorists on YouTube from 14 years ago are right, I should eventually be able to buy a whole building with them (this is tongue-in-cheek - calm down people!).
