I figured that I would go easy on you people today. I'm calling it, "I found it Friday!". Please. Please post a coin that you found. Coin roll hunting, on or in the ground, in coin return slots etc.... I want the good, the bad and the Ugly people! Understand?
This is my all-time favorite finds of all of my metal detecting days. It's also my first Large cent found. it was in about 8 inches of clay-like dirt and was in excellent condition from the start. I did soak it in olive oil when I first started out and slowly picked at it with a toothpick. I still have it today. My friend found an 1851/81 Large cent. Jerk. :D
    Well, here it is....

I found this coin in my mother in laws barn garage. It’s zinc and you can barely see a few letters but it’s a cent. Complete with holes too.

First coin found with metal detector, about 40 feet from a defunct rail line.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

My dad was foreman for a contractor developing Rhett Butler's plantation (the character was a myth, but he was based on a couple of well-known Southern Gentlemen from the Rhett and the Butler families). The plantation is now one of those densely packed McMansion type neighbourhoods... sad.

But when they were building the clubhouse, dad found this. Would have been cooler if it was actually from the era, but still cool:

Some kid was probably very disappointed they could not find their squished penny!

I used to do this occasionally with my grandpa, and I know we lost a few. If the train is hauling, those pennies can fly!

I found this Ghanian coin in a washing machine in my apartment building a few years ago. Guess someone had an interesting vacation.
