I know some of you have a Daniel Carr gold coin, a 1/10th, 1/4 or more, here's an opportunity to post a pic if you dare! I've actually owned a couple different ones but I only have one left, prices have skyrocketed like crazy same as all gold coins. Anyways here's mine and feel free to post yours and if you have an interesting backstory, feel free to share. No backstory on mine, saw it on the bay and I bought it, it has toning happening and I'm gonna leave it!
No DC gold but a few silvers. I was going to get a 1/10 prospector round but didn't before the prices were up.
This was the last one of his that I got... And then the others in Danny's series, just the obverse plus one extra (see if you figure that one out):
All these gold coins are special in their own way, the Clark Gruber's at the top are super nice, and it's quite a stash, not sure why he used .825 on the 2013 though. Mine's is special cause it's an Amero and it's toning, which some collectors hate but I don't. The 1933 Gold Indian is a beauty of a coin, I bought a couple in brass and one in silver but I couldn't swing getting the gold over-strike. Anyways, here's my other toned gold coin, just to show it off! Toned gold is htf, this one happened by accident, I placed it in this little leather coin purse it's sitting on and after a couple of weeks blamo!
I've got one, but can't get to it right now. I really, really wish I'd gone for one of the "Stella plus one" overstrikes.
There's a 1933 Gold Indian on the bay right now, starting price is right, but it's probably gonna sell for more as Carr did a really good job on these. The brass and silver issues were a little bit different as the font and lettering isn't incused, still, all of them look great to me.
