I think this is an Elizabeth I Shilling 1560-61. Am I correct? Genuine? Grade? What is it worth? Seller's photo.
Try.. 1 Shilling - Elizabeth I (Milled issue) - England – Numista That being said, I don't like the look of it. Almost certainly a replica and heavily distressed on top. The real coins are expensive.
I don't know if it is indeed a cast fake or just a heavily corroded original, but either way, I'd steer clear of that one.
For my collection, I wanted a dated coin of Elizabeth I, and most shillings seem to be undated, so I went with a sixpence. England: 1575 silver sixpence of Elizabeth I, Tower mint, eglantine mintmark
Could be @daveydempsey , if this was located in the UK I would say that there is a chance it is a dug coin but I would question a coin in a distressed condition in the USA. One observation is that the replica's are always perfectly round but @Mr. Numismatist 's coin has ragged edges. Of course a faker would want it to look old. Before doing anything at all I would weigh it. If it is between say 5.8 g and 6.1 g then it is worth looking closer, outside of that and its probably fake. Here is a link to a $35 fake. https://www.ebay.com/itm/168094514353?_skw=1+shilling+england+(1560,1561)&hash=item272336bcb1:g:c~8AAeSwkzVpWwgw&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5336458434&customid=&toolid=10049 This guy has plenty of replica coins but doesn't mention anything about fakes or copies. I think I would avoid this one unless it comes with a guarantee.
