I'm buying lead now, much cheaper and just like silver it is heavy too. 55 cents per pound Affordable for me.
So, as the gold to silver ratio falls, like it’s 4990/103 ratio is 48, right, so, does this mean we need to sell gold to buy more silver, at w ratio????
Within 8 minutes of the overseas market opening bell, gold broke $5,000 and silver went up over a dollar to break $104.00. Oh it’s going to get more interesting than it has been.
USA Coinbase quote at 109 and change as I type. We live in interesting times. Let's pop some popcorn.
This is interesting. Comparing SLV to FOCPX and FSELX (two funds I have a bunch in), in a 3 year comparison. SLV has surpassed FOCPX but not FSELX. and then a 10 year comparison. SLV is still lagging both. makes me feel better in hindsight about my investment choices so far, even though I still like physical silver and gold but in mostly US mintage.
I was talking to my local shop and he was thinking about upgrading his sigma tester. At the price point of silver and gold nowadays, the price point of a Sigma ain't looking all that bad anyone else in agreement?
When we reach the point where a one-ounce gold round will buy an XRF gun, I think it'll be time for me to indulge myself.
I bought the investor last year. It’s nice but not perfect for everything. Very good for pure bullion. Good for 90% but clad quarters can read in the green while I tested two 1937-S quarters that were worn, and from different batches and both were in the red. Clads had to be made similar to work in vending machines. It is a good tester though as it reads from the bottom and top into the sample and comes with wands calibrated for your machine for testing larger stuff. I haven’t found anything fake in my collection. A business would be crazy not to have one at this point.
Yep, copper and silver have very similar conductivity, close enough to keep me from relying solely on something like a Sigma. But if a coin passed Sigma and dimension check and weight check, I'd be pretty sure it's silver. (Also worth clarifying that I don't have a Sigma myself, I've just had dealers use them on stuff I brought to shows.)
Blew straight past 80x FV, and almost to 81x. 40% halves are showing at 33x now. (Of course, nobody's paying that.) Just a few months ago that would've been high for 90%. Edit: 90% above 81x now. It's going up faster than I can type...
