How to trun a coin in a TPG holder.

    Yes, this is the answer found in numerous sources. The Lawrence book says it (https://archive.org/details/compguidebarbdime1991lawr/page/n78/mode/1up) and PCGS says the same (https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1905-o-10c-micro/94836). I would imagine someone compared the size and characteristics of the quarter mint mark to make that conclusion.

    As far as the grade I can see G6 being more accurate. The rims are full with some denticle left, but no leaf detail behind the ear left that I can see so I don't think it quite makes VG8, although the reverse is better.

    @KBBPLL . Yes it is quite true, the reverse is better than the obverse but i never surrender ownership points. I also found that thing about the quarter in the Coin facts section of PCGS. James

    I don't assign grades, but I wouldn't have guessed G4 for that one. The coin looks easily G6.

    In my opinion, one of the qualifications for VG is you must be able to see the outlines of most of the leaves on the upper half of the laurel.
