We have a great relationship built on trust that she's earned. I don't even mind giving her possession and deciding a price based on prices the day the transaction closes, I don't want her getting burned by volatility, which is wild right now. I may call her..........but not yet..........not yet. Forgot to add, she also deals with refineries, not something many people have access to.
New peak this night: $91.57. Looks like silver can stay up later than I can. We'll see what it's like in the morning (assuming it hasn't ascended into the heavens and disappeared from view)...
1/14/26 $90.84 @ 12:11am "...baby all the lights are turned on you..." Everybody Loves You Now--Billy Joel
My purchasing power has slowed to just buying Mercury Dimes at 5.00 a pop when I can find them. How long do you think it will be before you will see us posting BIN 115.00 "for A 1 OZ ROUND?
Apparently Shanghai is driving the price action, which reminds me of the Chinese apartment bubble where prices for never-to-be occupied apartments went to the stratosphere, in which case we might be seeing the same mentality at play in the silver market. Comments?
I posted this somewhere a couple weeks ago about China and silver buying ... looks to be totally maniac crazy
I think my Ground chuck May be looking towards ground Sirloin , But then again I did get a nice buck last year and we process ourselves so there is venison equivalent to Porterhouse! Just as a diabetic it is very hard for me eat Good foods that are affordable, But I think a dressed burger for dinner without roll or bread fits the bill nicely. So China or US no matter to me lets get to the 115.00 mark and maybe I can eat what my pancreas needs!!
Also with this news maybe they can afford to buy. China's trade surplus surges 20% to a record $1.2 trillion,
I started this thread on November 28, 2025 and stated silver was over $56.00 an ounce. Now it’s January 14, 2026, just 48 days later and what’s the price per ounce? It’s almost at $91.00 an ounce. Have you ever seen anything move so fast? It makes Superman, who’s faster than a speeding bullet look slow.
Just before the (very ugly) end to the Dutch Tulip craze 1634-1637 a Semper Agustus bulb with funky Broken Virus Colors was worth the price of a house. And it didn't even have a plus sign, coffee bean or even a WOW! on it. I guess Tulip Mania is probably a huge cliche by now, but I find it fascinating how crazy people get when prices keep going up. Eventually, memories of the ending die out with the generation that went through it. And then it starts over again ie 1720's South Sea Bubble and Mississippi Bubble. I hope we fare better. I hope it goes to $1,000. I remember all too well the Flat Spin Brothers trying to corner silver. I even made a few bucks on it. But as much as I love silver I just can't trust that wayward wench.
I love Tulips, especially the broken color ones, especially Red and Yellows; from part of my garden which is usually heavy in tulips, various lillies and Gladiolus
