Thanks for the extra spot in this giveaway. I only have one commemorative and that is the Oregon Trail. I think it is just a fantastic design.
Count me in please. My favourite circulating commemorative is this Swede: A big thank you to all the donors and LM for his hard work in coordinating.
Entry Post I would like to direct both of my entries (thanks @Sting 60!) to @JoshuaP. Good luck everyone...
Rounds 10 and 11 prizes are shipping today! I will PM tracking to the respective recipients in a bit.
Still no word from @MeowtheKitty regarding his Round 8 win, which he is still unaware of, having not been on the site since December 12th. We’ll give him until January 27th (a month from the R8 drawing) to claim his prize. Apologies to our R8 donor, @masterswimmer, for being stuck in limbo until then.
Count me in please! That Arkansas half is a bucket lister for me! Here is a picture of my first commemorative half I ever bought as a young kid. My lcs sold it to me for melt at the time. 6 bucks.
Well, folks, this has been a blast, but now that we're well into 2026, it is time to wrap up COINmas 2025. You will recall that this contest, which started last Thanksgiving, was originally intended to close around Christmas Day of 2025, but it ended up "running long". I don't know about you, but I think the added overtime was fun. But now... 'tis time for the final drawing: Round 12. Our lucky number was... 385. And Post #385 was by... @dwhiz! COINgratulations, @dwhiz! You have won yourself a heckuva nice commemorative half from @BuffaloHunter! He will need your shipping address, of course. I shall message y'all shortly. @BuffaloHunter - as usual, please post a shipping notice here after you mail it. @dwhiz - please post a receipt here when you have received it. Round summary in Post #1.
Let us take a moment to thank our generous donors: @JoshuaP @Randy Abercrombie @Eric the Red @masterswimmer @lordmarcovan @BuffaloHunter Let's do this again when the 2026 holiday season rolls around, eh?
~ End of contest ~ However, the thread will remain open until the remaining little bits of unfinished business are wrapped up: Round 8 @masterswimmer still needs to hear from @MeowtheKitty in order to ship the prize. Shipping notice from @masterswimmer still pending as of this post. Winner's receipt from @MeowtheKitty still pending as of this post. * @MeowtheKitty has until January 27th (one month from the date of the R8 drawing) to claim his prize. If he doesn't show back up by then, it will be up to @masterswimmer whether we wait a bit longer, or do another drawing. Round 10 Winner's receipt from @Jersey magic man still pending as of this post. Round 11 Winner's receipt from @samclemens3991 still pending as of this post. DONE Round 12 Shipping notice from @BuffaloHunter still pending as of this post. Winner's receipt from @dwhiz still pending as of this post. Round summary in Post #1.
I must say thanks to @lordmarcovan and @BuffaloHunter for the contest. And much to my surprise I won. I did send Buffalo Hunter my shipping address.
Back home again. Here are some pics. of the gifts @BuffaloHunter was kind enough to give me. The original prize is an NGC MS-65 1943 Steel cent. I cannot tell you how different it looks from the "Gem" steel cents I bought when i was 12; so i took a picture instead. The one doing it's impersonation of a galvanized washer is my childhood coin. (I have 49 more of those).
Here is a pic. of the Steelie rev; i don't have the photo shills to show it but the gem coin has a cartwheel luster with bluish/pink hints.
@BuffaloHunter also enclosed 4 tokens, (picture here). I hope he will not be offended if I regift those. My daughter is head librarian for 3 small towns and always on the hunt for "prizes" to give away in her childrens reading programs. The minute she asked; they were given; because otherwise they wil just get lost in the messs I call an office.
