So, we all know there is a gold to silver ratio (for an ounce of gold, you can get this many ounces of silver). Do any of you track or trade based on this ratio? Currently it is around 55 - 1 ounce of gold is about 55 ounces of silver. My other question is... for your stack... what is your ratio? I don't need to know your ounces (but if you want to brag, go ahead). But what is your ratio of gold to silver (how many ounces of gold vs silver)? I'll tell you... I've only recently started stacking and I've got 0.45 oz gold, but 127 oz silver. I'm seriously out of balance for a long term stack, but absolutely crushed it last year.
I don't pay much attention to the ratio. I spend more time looking for more to add. Been doing okay Urban Prospecting Current ratio guessing 100-1 Everyone should have their weight in silver.
I believe the ratio of gold to silver prices is a little more interesting than the ratio of oil barrel to pork-belly prices. But I don't think it's good for much of anything. As for my own holdings - what, you want me to keep an inventory? I mean, yeah, counting the stuff is fun, but keeping track of it seems way too much like work.
I don’t pay any attention to a gold and silver ratio. I buy what I can afford at the lowest price I can. I have both gold and silver in many forms.
Why didn't you just ask the proportion of the two? same thing? If I can use mpcusa gold I would brag...
I don't track it myself. The trouble with stacking gold vs silver is the cost. Or I could buy 40 oz of Silver .. or 40oz slowly over time versus one large purchase. So it also comes down to how much money one has available to purchase gold/silver. Once you build up a stack of silver it affords you to sell a bunch to buy gold. So Some people track the ratio to identify a good time to swap silver to gold ... and keep stacking the lower cost silver for the next swap.
I do not stack anything. I don't have any AR/AV bullion either. Mine is all tied up in rare coins. Thus the price of AV/ PL/ PT/AR do not mean much. Value is equal to quality and rarity. But a rough guess... 3 oz. Platinum 1 oz Paladium 300+ oz. Silver 800+ oz gold
Yep. I inventoried everything, did an elaborate spread sheet, ran out of room to keep in two bank storage boxes, held some temporarily unsecured, then bought a safe. Then I went back and forth between safe and lock boxes to do value assessment, now I'm back to ground zero knowing what is where.
I am more interested in my 'Gross Income' / 'After Tax Take Home' ratio. It gets seriously depressing if you factor in: Local Sales Tax(es) Real Estate Tax(es) Gasoline Tax Roadway Tolls Various Govt. 'Fees' C2H5OH Tax I think I am running close to 1:0.45 or 45% after . . . . . . Z
