Washington state bucking a trend...

Looks like Washington is going to repeal the state law that made coins and bullion not subject to sales tax.

I've heard of a number of states passing such laws (as my own NC did a few years back), but this is the first time I've heard of a state moving in the other direction. Guess there'll be a lot less physical metal moving in and out of that corner of the country. (At least as far as the government can tell?)

Dont they already get enough of our money ! still happy that Nevada is still tax free
and will stay that way

Don't get me started on Washington state gov. I will get banned. It's a sinking ship in a death spiral. Bad news and only going to get worse. I better stop there

 

They are in good company with several states. No need to explain further, we (and they) know who and why they are.

 

When I lived in Washington State it was bad. Now it’s worse. The only thing that can help that state is for an earthquake to put the state in the ocean.

 

May be the only hope now... wait till I move out

 

I have a friend who lives there who loves it there, but he's always been a little weird. We used to duck hunt together. The dude is completely "out there", likes to go to "Burning Man" get togethers in Nevada annually when he can.

 

Lived in Washington State my whole life. Mountains, ocean, islands, coast, desert, all within a few hours. Four seasons. All that is great. The rest, not so much.

 

Like California, the scenery is awesome......... the people in control? And that's all I gots to say about that.

 

I've always said California would be my idea of paradise, if not for (a) all the cars and (b) all the people. I figure most of the politics stems from those two foundations.

 

I lived in California most of my life and finally got the heck out of there about 14 years ago, was sick and tired of getting up at 3AM drive 4 hours to work in unbelievably bad traffic then getting off at 3PM only to get home at 7PM six days a week ! plus the people there are so stuck up and just unfriendly, I lived in a nice community and know one ever came by once to introduce there self are say hi, I remember growing up and the neighbors would come over for dinner and they would always be coming over day and night that was pretty cool, the good old days

 

The more overpopulated an area becomes, the less social the people become. Add in a bunch of new comers and everyone hunkers down into their small circles of familiar faces. It's been this way since man discovered fire and isn't changing.

 

That must be why it's impossible to have a social life in places like New York City.

 

back in the mid 70,s when I was brought up, life was just more uncomplicated people were just more friendly

 

Throughout history older people always complain about how wonderful things used to be. Human nature I guess.

 

People complain, because it was a simpler less complicated way of life back then
compared to todays rat race !

 

Complain? I'd say more complicated way of life altogether. How do I know? I'm a time traveler.
