Actually I've sold quite a bit of gold right here on this forum, I even have a couple of regrets but I live and learn! Beautiful heavy Mexican gold coins up there Rusty, here's my smaller one!
Thank you! I kinda lucked into finding it. Would enjoy redeeming it for a St Gaudens, but the Fed has spoiled THOSE plans! I don’t think gold is done by a long shot. I’m still getting what I can!
Here’s my newest gold coin, a $2.50 1911-D. This is the was D variety and it was the only coin in the entire series that I didn’t have. I bought the strong D many moons ago.
Exactly. I say that to my brother when he brags about how much he has made on xyz stock, when in fact his profit is 100% unrealized. The big question for many here is what to do with the capital gain should we sell PMs? And what is the future of the dollar? IMO it is better to sit out the storm and make a bowl of popcorn.
That's why rich folks don't sell appreciated assets. They borrow against them. The loan isn't income, and often the interest payments are tax-deductible. https://smartasset.com/investing/buy-borrow-die-how-the-rich-avoid-taxes
Of course, gold keeps going up...probably right up to when I make a purchase at FUN...can I catch a damn break ? I gotta let off some steam......
