Just picked this up at my LCS, got the call at 10AM and I was down there by 10:30 the reason for the urgency is because I have been waiting a long time ! plus the fact there is no tax in Nevada which saved me nearly $700 in undo tax burden, which is a good thing the bay doesn’t recognize in state purchase between seller and buyer which is stupid as hell ! But one thing I can say is this thing is a monster !! if you have never held or seen one in person you can’t appreciate the immense size !
Reminds me of the story about the largest nugget ever found. A family used the shiny rock as door stop for years before it was known to be actually Gold. That's what I remember anyways.
Yes, it was a 17 pound nugget used as a doorstop. It kicked off the first gold rush in America - in North Carolina. Believe it or not, that was not the largest nugget found during that rush! Read more here: https://historicsites.nc.gov/all-sites/reed-gold-mine/history
The biggest gold nugget ever found was the Welcome Stranger, discovered in Australia in 1869, weighing over 72 kg (173 lbs) gross before being broken up and melted
Like the read have a buddy who goes to the Carolina's yearly to I guess shake for gold he has quite a bit.
