I wasn't being sarcastic. I clicked in from the side menu and didn't see this was an Error forum post. Then I failed to look at the closeups of the cud, or whatever it is.
I got in a hurry and off tangent on the D mint mark. I thought it might be for Darwin but…NO. Australia sent the dies to the US for the silver 3 and 6 pence in 1942 (during WW2). It’s obvious 1943 was also struck. But in my haste I missed the rim cud. Actually a very nice coin, all said and done, with some attractive toning, too.
No Nope There are Cuds that are on the rim and extend into the field and then there is a cud that is just on the rim. There's also a Broken Collar Cud located on the reeded edge.
