I have a few rolls of 40% to sell as the price is way up. I called my local CS to see what they were paying... don't want them. I will have to sell another way. May get more but its a bit more of a hassle. Anyway, I found it interesting. Didn't ask about 90% as I'm keeping that.
During the Hunt Bros. debacle and moving forward dealers large and small would pick and choose on 40%. Lot of it depends on whether the refiners would buy it.Goes in cycles even today.
Yeah, if the refiners are backed up anyhow, I'm sure they're turning up their noses at 40%. It's often harder to sell than 90% at the shows around here.
Collector Nut is your buyer. The refineries are backed up and quit talking anything that isn't .999 FINE Until ??? Probably not going to be accepting 40%-90% for awhile...it takes the refineries too much time to refine. The .999 FINE the refineries can just burn/melt and re pour into 1000 ounce bars and ship out. Sell your 40% to Collector Nut.
Exactly, many of the bigger refiners aren't accepting 90% Silver, Sterling silver and of course 40% Silver. They want the good stuff just like me, below is a video on the subject!
Thanks for the info. I hadn't been paying much attention to the situation. I just knew prices were up.
40% Silver has always been the B_Child when comes to redemption, my LCS tells me the main reason is there is just to many metals in the soup and to much refining to get the right stuff out.
Yep and Sterling silver is even more of a pain to refine, even worse than 40% and if the smelters aren't buying it, time to sell elsewhere, like your local coin club!
Try Craigslist. A local stacker/speculator will eventually respond. If I as under 50 that would be me. Or give them out for Halloween in 2x2s. Maybe start a YN on the path. I have a couple rolls but get 0 Trick or Treaters.
Despite refiners not wanting them, they are still theoretically worth $7.60 each to the right buyer... that would a darn expensive trick-or-treat gift!
Oh come on guys. I’ve seen the coins y’all post here. We are an impoverished nation, not Teach a kid to fish. Priceless
