Go for what you know, 1 oz gold bar from Costco! tmoney - Copy.gif

Buy in California to avoid taxes! :D
In California, sales tax is exempt on purchases of gold bullion and numismatic coins if the transaction is for $2,000 or more. Purchases below this amount are subject to the state's sales tax, and you may also be subject to federal capital gains tax when you sell your gold at a profit.

Cool story, but not, in my opinion, a false equivalence.

Over 35 years, that's about 2% per year, well below inflation, isn't it?

ASEs and gold...that's a good way to hedge...if one can swing the cost. Nice. @mpcusa

A number of years ago, Leona Helmsley and a number of well heeled folks in NYC did that with artwork, jewelry etc. They ended up being prosecuted by the NYS tax authorities. Leona served time for that and a bunch of other tax scams. She was famously quoted saying "only little people pay taxes."

State of Nevada is tax free, wish I could say premium free as well..LOL, but I have to admit I did ok in that department on this trip the $70 premium I paid for the 1oz
GOLD bar was awesome they usually charge 5% - 7% and 8% on premium products
    like AGE,S and Buffs.

I wonder if yall track the ratio of silver to gold. I've noticed that a few months ago, the ration was over 100:1. Now its around 88:1.

There was once a thread about that. Hope you've got a couple of hours. And a strong stomach for bad member behavior.

People who have a different point of view from you these days, will turn into bad behavior by anybody members or not. You pick a side these days there is no dialogue or listening to others point of view those days are long gone!!!

Nope. I firmly believe there is no objective use to this made up ratio. It's trying to impose logical rigor on a fundamentally irrational system.
