This is really a fun project, I bought a empty GREEN MONSTER BOX on the bay and now in the process of filling it up so far I have 200 onces and hope to have it done 500 onces by the end of the month, here's a look inside.
When that dude is full, who lifts it? Do you own a forklift? Sheesh! Let me say this: mobility is not its’ strong suit. I KNOW! Get Kolton Miller from the Raiders to shift it for you! I’m a lifelong Raiders guy so I have the latitude to say this stuff. Just tell Kolton that Spark sent you. Seriously, that’s a hell of project…and a lot of silver! (…psst, it is spelled “ounce”. Compliments of your local Spelling Police ). BTW, i really enjoyed your post on Oregon and Crater Lake. Looks like you had a very nice trip and visit…Spark
I have never seen the inside of a monster box. They are made really well. Filled these boxes weigh about 32 pounds. @mpcusa Would mind sharing about what price you are having to pay for Silver Eagles?
Yes, its very heavy..LOL, the only place I can put it is under the bed its to heavy for anything else tried putting it to a drawer and it busted, thank god for crazy glue ! I have some bars in there as well so pushing 250oz, this is one of the reasons I got out of silver about 5 years ago but now I am back with a new enthusiasm for the bright shiny metal and yes we had an amazing time at both crater lake and Landon
There are allot of sellers right now in the mid $40,s on the bay and some from china at $9.00...LOL, I could probably do a little better at my LCS but at present I have some mobility issues so it can be difficult making it over, if its below spot I turn and run, you would have to have a couple screws loose to lose money like that.
Yep, you see low prices on ebay all the time but there's so many fake ASE's it's obvious you're gonna get screwed! Some sellers even add a pic of a pretty face to get all the testosterone filled youngsters to buy! https://www.ebay.com/itm/3887773564...TMUyKnAQ3hpzIUVUFSnWAdNlj/|tkp:Bk9SR6KeudGNZg
As long as you buy from a reputable dealer which I do and always take new purchases to my LCS for verification
A few month back I was at a local shop and ask what they would give for a sealed 2016 monster box. He told me they paid a dollar or two over spot. I thought that was a strong price but I was not ready to sell. A few days ago I got an online quote on the monster box from one of the large bullion dealers. Spot was at $37.89 and the quote was $35.71. I believe I would have to pay shipping. That same day the bullion dealer was selling silver eagles at $42 to $44 on their site. Rough math, they were wanting to make about $6 or $7 per coin. That would be over $3000 on the box. My question is, was the quote about normal for bullion dealers or was it just a low ball offer? Part two of the story. The same bullion dealer offered $250 per set on 2011 25th Ann. 5 pc proof sets. This was a sealed box of 5 sets. Would that be a fair price?
