Please guess the grade of this toned Franklin Half Dollar. I have included the PCGS Trueview and a GC Great Photo.
MS65. Unfortunate couple of cuts along the lower set of lines though. Other than that a real eye-catcher of a coin!
I am at 65+, There are many bag marks on the obverse that should keep this one from 66. The color is great though. Those 2 photos show the difference between shooting a raw coin and thru a slab. Well done but the GC photos are hiding many large bag marks.
I think it's MS-64+ but I'm going to guess PCGS gave it MS-65+ It's just a bit too weak for FBL in my opinion.
MS66 and as much as I love blazing white that toning is so nice I wouldn't kick it out of the hoard bed.
And the answer is MS 64. It is an older blue holder and I think the grade is a bit conservative. Normally one might see a market grade for the color but I believe this was a technical grade.
Was that a 58 Franky that stir up the toned Kennedy market. Back before Coinfacts changed. I was grading with those standards. I like the toning and the original MS condition. I would buy it as a 64.
It was a 1958 that sold for over $100k. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/19...ms67-fb-cac-sells-for-110k-at-auction.324310/
