As B-Man said his 2 PM dealers are legit. I also use Apmex.com when I am looking for something different to buy and MCM (Modern Coin Mart) when their deals are good. Silver.com I have not used personally but from reading other posts here and on other forums they always get a thumbs up.
So what's the difference between the 2 if they're owned by the same company? I've never used either one. I've read mixed reviews on JM Bullion so I've been wary of using them. Also it looks like they have a $100 minimum to accept any order. Am I mistaken about that?
No i don't think that's right. According to their site, depending on your payment method, there is a minimum order. Shipping is free as long as you meet their minimum. On Provident & APMEX I can order less than $100 & be charged shipping. On JM bullion I can't do that. http://www.jmbullion.com/faq/minimum-maximum-order-sizes/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Every site has the occasional complaint. APMEX has loads of youtube users claiming APMEX ripped them off. I use JMBULLION more than any other site and never a problem so I don't know what these mixed reviews are. Unless its fools complaining that it takes a week for checks to clear and usually 2 total weeks before you receive your order. That's the same everywhere as some people send fake checks/ money orders so they have to do it. As far as you ordering under $100, I'm sure you could call them and they would do it if your really want to pay double. If your ordering say $40 worth then your going to have to pay another $25-$35 for packaging, shipping, insurance, etc. Im sure they would do it but it just doesn't make sense. Hold off until you have $100 to drop on an order, get free shipping, you get a much better deal. Im sure they just list minimum as $100 so they can avoid someone paying 50% or more shipping charge then complaining that they got ripped off on shipping.
I keep an Excel spreadsheet with my ASE "to buy" list and keep it updated on current pricing from APMEX, JM Bullion, Silver.com, and MCM. Then I call my dealers and ask their prices. Interestingly enough, my dealers always have better pricing on ASE's, even the lower mintage ones.
When you buy tubes of the ASE is there any chance of getting a frosty one or can you tell by looking at the edges...? ANDTHEY SORT THROUGH THEM BEFORE SHIP
