Don't think any compounds or complexes exist for helium or neon.

Oh, so all it takes is a gentle dip in fluoroantimonic acid.

For those of you following along at home, that's... a rather strong acid. Strongest known, I think. Dipping a coin in it would be a bit like removing a spot with a tactical nuke. Which is to say, it would likely remove the spot, but the coin's surface would be significantly impaired.

Welcome to the contrarian's field day... :)

Don't mind me, I'll be shopping at the 2 for 1 sale tomorrow on the Nasdaq.

PM in another part of the world .. India
This is interesting news for localized gold demand

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...-as-indians-seek-to-dispose-banned-bank-bills

    a few quotes
"Demand in the second-largest bullion consumer will dry up soon as the cash supply dwindles"

"The immediate effect may be a very short-term splurge of spending on gold jewelry and other high value articles as individuals seek to offload the soon-to-be obsolete notes"

" jewelers might have to go on a holiday as no cash sales will happen"

mostly a method to reduce illegal activity and artificial price increases according to the article.

I see no particular reason for any markets to move substantially in any direction, short of any political unrest, which there doesn,t seem to be much of.

Silver has moved a little bit but not much. I want it to tank for awhile so I can get back in the game.

Let's wait for Kurt to give us his Bear Opinion on the silver forecast.

I suspect Kurt, as an employee of the PA legislature, had a very long night indeed.

Well last night's futures certainly changed this morning.

Last night they were projecting an 800 point drop in the Dow Jones, and gold was showing at $1325.

I'm gonna have to say I called this one wrong. I was expecting massive short coverings and ultimately a drop in the market.

There's still the reality of the economy, so I think there is a correction coming. But I was fully prepared this morning to start buying stock and selling PM - and now I'm not. I'm on hold.

I've been waiting a long time hoping for a decent correction and an entry point back into the markets. Read a story the other day about 50 trillion waiting on the sidelines, guess I'm not alone.

I too misread the reaction (or lack there-of). Was expecting a repeat of Brexit and was poised to buy when the correction happened. That said, it doesn't take much to get the market moving based on opinions instead of facts.

Nothing happened because IT professionals were employed to ensure it. I must admit all that guff about planes falling from the sky were a bit silly.

For me I can collect (mainly) silver coins, denarii and tets, (mainly) roman imperial but some later british stuff, and it's both an investment and an interest. Fascinating in fact. Win win.

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

It was long, but not for the reason you think. I was on the post-election volunteer roadside sign removal squad.
