1912 Liberty S or D?

The beauty of coins is that only they can tell you the real story. One could have 3000 people seeing one thing based off of poor photos, but if the evidence the coin presents says otherwise, as long as you allow it to tell its story, opinions are meaningless, including my own.

On the bright side, it is a good example of why letting the coin itself tell the story is so important, but I was really hoping this one would turn out differently for you.

 

Yes, indeed a D, however it was interesting that 15/18 thought it was an S. It was a gamble and it didn't pay off. Luckily, I had better luck today: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/new-pickups.285335/

 

Your images lend an entirely different character to the MM than did the seller's. This obviously enhances KoinJester's rep, rather than offering excuses for missing it the first time.

The original photo suggests an S.
The current photos are clearly a "filled" D.
While not surprising, it is disappointing.
