What are your thoughts on current Pre-1933 U.S. Gold premiums?

    Premiums on ebay are too high, but if I buy from my LCS, for a Saint I'll pay like $20- $30 over spot so that's not bad but for a 10th it will likely be the same price. Oh and that's only from one coin shop in my area not all. :smuggrin:

    Funny but I don't think others get the deals that I get only because this shop owner has been to my house as his wife, and my wife are friends. :)

    Obviously, a 1% premium on the Saint is much better than 4% on the sub-1 ouncer.

    I'm surprised the premium for a fractional is that low. Even my LCS, which had very good pricing, charged me probably15-20% as I recall. Of course, gold was lower (~ $1,400 an ounce back then).

    Yes I've been able to get great prices on really nice gold coins but it doesn't happen all the time and the last time I bought from my closest LCS was a couple of years ago. There's a big difference in coin dealers some don't even care for me but they still want to make a sale. :D
