Not True according to this...a call was made to the mint specifically...just a rumor http://srsroccoreport.us13.list-man...7d3583a190af2a292e&id=a1f94688d6&e=234acee486
I just picked it up from another forum for here. I was thinking it may be a rumor how their source is just one AP and the story was coming from coindoctors
The stuff was selling crazy like last year no surprise I see silver has dropped alot in the past two days back down no 18.65 or so.
And they were hoping the special edition anniversary edge stamp would increase the popularity & more sales. Which are due out Oct or Sept don't remember.
If the Mint has amassed a standing inventory of about 10 million silver eagles, I would say it is possible they have stopped for the year, expecting that what they have on hand will be enough supply to last through December. However, unless they have improved output from the past couple years, I do not believe they could be that far ahead at this point. But who knows. I'm not sure why it matters either way.
From reports they had several months where they didn't even sniff selling what they were making. If they did suspend production I am actually more surprised it too them so long to do so if the reports were accurate
Maybe they're temporarily shifting to Proof & Uncirculated ASE production? Just thinking out loud, I really haven't heard anything definite.
Scammers scam precious metals coin buyers because they're sufficiently gullible to fall for nearly anything.
