LordM Giveaway #96 (pick your prize)

    Contest status: CLOSED
    Drawing: (@fretboard won)
    Shipped: 8 August 2023
    Winner's notice of receipt

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the latest giveaway. This will be another one of my "pick your prize" contests, so you can hopefully win something you'll like.

The prize for this contest will be your choice of an item from one of the following lots.

Pick one of the following lots:

    Lot 1
Roman Empire: ca. 41-54 AD bronze As of Claudius, Libertas reverse

    (Nice contrasting patina.)

    Lot 2
Roman Provincial (Moesia, Nicopolis): ca. 193-211 AD bronze Æ17 of Septimius Severus

(Click link for original dealer listing with images of old collector tag, etc.)

    Lot 3
Roman Empire: ca. 238-244 AD silver antoninianus of Gordian III, Hercules reverse
(Click link for original dealer listing.)

    Lot 4
Southern India: ca. 1700-1830 gold fanam

(Tiny, but cool. As of July 2023, I have three of these. You will receive one similar to the pictured coin, or maybe the pictured coin itself. The remaining two will likely be featured in upcoming giveaways. Note: cat hair not included.)
    94E29F7A-EA17-4412-A4D8-FEDC40EC6EAB.jpeg

    Lot 5
Peru: 1900-JF silver dinero, 1900/898 overdate, PCGS MS64+

(In a PCGS Gold Shield holder w/TrueView images. Click link for cert page. A stunning near-Gem example. I'd have added it to my personal collection if I didn't already have a half-dinero in MS67!)

    Lot 6
United States: 1916-S Buffalo nickel, SEGS F15, with "No F" error (no designer's initial)

(A somewhat lesser known variety, I think.)

    Lot 7
United States: 1937-D Lincoln Wheat cent, PCGS MS66 RD
    (Click link for reverse pic)

    Lot 8
United States: 1959 Franklin half dollar, ANACS PF67
    (Click link for reverse pic)

To enter: all you have to do is say that you want in, and specify which lot you would like if you should happen to win the random drawing. Also a word or two about why you want it, or some other coin-related comment of your choice. Only one entry post per contestant, please.

You may enter on someone else's behalf if you do not desire the prize for yourself. Simply state who you would like to receive it, should your entry win the drawing.

The drawing will be held sometime on or after August 1, 2023, depending on my schedule. You may consider the contest open for entries until such time as I have posted the final result of the random drawing.

Totally free: the contest is free of charge, open to everyone, with free worldwide shipping. The only obligation is that I ask that if you win, please post to this thread later, when you have received the prize, so that we'll know you got it (that helps me keep track).

    Good luck!

    Numismatic regards,

    ~Robertson ("Rob") Shinnick ("LordM")

I would like to Enter for Lot 8.
Such a nice Franklin Half Dollar!!!!
I always like a proof with a mirror finish, and it is so nice to have a coin that is over 60 years old in that condition.:)

Yeah, I want in! Lot 8 would be my choice as a small part of my collection is Ben Franklin medals and tokens so another Franklin half would fit in perfectly! Here's a pic of an old girly club back in Chicago from like the 1940's, just got it in today's mail! :D

Please count me in. I love that #5 coin, and would be just as happy with #6, as you know how I love Buffalo nickels.

Entry post. My first choice is Lot #4, the South India gold fanam, as I don't have any coins from South India from that period. Looks like a fascinating coin. That being said, my runner-up choice would be Lot #1, the Claudius As, which also has a ton of character. I don't have any early Roman bronzes of Claudius either.

I've got to say, Rob, your offerings in this month's giveaway are seriously over the top. Blown away I am. Whether I'm fortunate enough to win or not, thank you sincerely for just putting this giveaway out there for us.

Lot #4, the Au fanam jumped up and down and screamed, 'I want to be in Masterswimmer's possession!!'. I do know y'all heard it too. Don't deny it. ;)
