Wow! Possible the worst fake cent I've seen on eBay

This is a scamming nightmare. I sure hope no one falls for this:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/364324066550

The front of the coin is all wrong. The color is horrendous. The holder is all wrong. Not even close.

But... this person is very deliberate in their scam. It's not an accident that they are screen grabbing the verification from PCGS. And the coins don't even match. But here what's even worse...

The font of the coin is taken at a bad angle. The rear of the coin is not even the same coin. In fact, it's centered in the slab on the back and it's rotated in the slab on the front. If you scan the QR code on the back on the slab, it takes you to an entirely different coin. This person is not doing any of this by accident, it would seem.

And, the Buy-It-Now price is silly. It's times like this that I appreciate that the fakes are still easy to spot. I've bought a bad 1909-S VDB in the past, so I know how much it can sting.

Wow, that's funny and kinda sad.

Seller's also got a circulated 1999 Delaware quarter listed for $950 and a circulated 1966 quarter for $800.:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

    Holy cow!
He calls that one a filler. I'm not a state-quarter guy, but my guess is I could get a pristine one for $20.

Am I misunderstanding? Isn't a filler a coin that you use until you can get a better one. This guy is ridiculous. And he has so many listings that people must buy his stuff.

I see that he also has Pamp 1 kilogram gold bars for $1000 BIN. Oh, sorry, "1kilo Fine handmade prop replica".

Edit: and the AGEs are described as "gold plated".

For the budget minded there is this fine specimen:

Yours might be pristine, but his is one-of-a-kind, unique. Do the math.:banghead:

Given his other listings, I wouldn't touch that double eagle with someone else's money. He might have come across a legitimate valuable coin, but if so, it was clearly an accident.

Sorry, not sure what happened there. I went to their "see other items" and it was 3rd or 4th from the top, but I can't find it now. I probably pasted the wrong link. It was there long enough to send the seller a little message. Maybe they got the hint.

I saw it too, and yes, I believe it was taken down that quickly.

Notice also that the listed seller is "lonedanger" (hmm..hidden meaning) but when you look at other items it's "Rick's reselling store"

They have a lot of “rare no mint mark” listings. Hard to believe anybody is dumb enough to believe that no mint mark garbage.
