It has been soaked in acetone and I used a toothpick to try to remove the debris. Would a collector want it or should I return it to the wild? Thanks for your thoughts
dilute ammonia soak with liberal rinse to follow and tamp dry. you will not believe the results and have posted on this before on cointalk. Try on regular cupronickel quarter if you'd like (and I would recommend). That should pull 80-90% of the crap off of there....
Take a large hook then hang a piece of any meat to it. Drill a small hole to the quarter and put a metal leader line through it and attach it to the rig. The quarter will reflect light and shimmer in the water.. Shark bait!
Seriously, if you are in the Wash DC Metro area I would be glad to show you. Can't stand to look at it right now but you've not really anything to lose. Or I will give you $2 for it and then show if I can help it. Don't really want the coin but like seeing if I can help coins like this.
Seeing how I have yet to find a W quarter, I would keep it just because and like collecting nut said, there's not many of them.
