I have a 2000-D Sacagewea Dollar that has a few issues that I'm struggling with. I'm not sure whether this is a mint error. First, the rim is not uniform is size both obverse and reverse. Is this off-center? Second, there is discoloration on the obverse that I can't quite describe. Is it toning or damage? Thanks for any help. Sacagewea2b.jpg Sacagewea2a.jpg

No, off center would mean that there are details missing. This is considered 'mis-aligned' which is common.

The coloration is staining of one kind or another. It isn't an error, or something that adds value.

Looks like a chemical stain. Post mint issue.
You can safely spend your $1.00 Sacagawea coin.

Anyone use Acetone on these coins? They always seem to get dull toned, in my collection anyways.

Because the coin has no more than face value, I would try letting soak in acetone overnight and a good rinse and pat dry to see how it affects the surface. Good learning experience.
