Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

Does the Mint know something that we don't (besides the fact that some/many people are idiots)? Is the little blue box really worth that much???

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't recall Gold Eagles being this much over spot, not that I've bought any gold in recent years, besides an MS-70 1/10th last month.

I'm happy with the Canadian Grizzly I got a couple of weeks ago for $1255 (currently $1335) too, thank you very much.

Whoops, my bad, lol. Force of habit is why I put ASE. Unfortunately, as far as I know, I can't change the title of the thread.

Now, an error gold ASE IS something I would pay $285 over spot for.

They prefer we purchase from dealers. Dealers would not survive if the mint competed with them.

Hmm? A Gold American Gold Eagle? Isn't that a bit redundant, Jim?

The proof is $285 over spot but the bullion gold eagle can be had for around $50-$60 over spot from authorized purchasers. (The U.S. mint doesn't sell the bullion version on their site)

Then how come my LCS considers this a bullion coin then? http://catalog.usmint.gov/american-..._ga=1.216780630.1949391679.1460185180&start=1

This is why I don't buy gold from them. They charge that outrageous over spot price for common gold.

No, it's the uncirculated version, not the proof. But, yeah, you can get the bullion cheaper.

My mistake, for some reason I was thinking the U.S. mint only sold the proof version on their site.

that's what I'm saying they're telling me the uncirculated version is bullion but yet, it's not.

If they sell them that way as well sounds like a nice place to pick them up cheaper
