Hi everyone, I recently inherited a bunch of coins from my Grandmother. There's many individually wrapped coins and bullion coins. I'm looking to sell off the bullion (300 coins) and eventually all the other collectible coins. Should I hold on to them or sell them off? I've gotten offers of $.5 to $.75 over spot for all 300 of the coins. They're in tubes, years 2011-2012. Thanks for the help.
After ebay fees, shipping and paypal - you will lose upwards of 15% of the total sale price. Do the math first. There is a section of the forum to post things for sale. You might find someone locally.
Yeah, I was hoping to avoid ebay. Private sale would be best in terms of money but it would be the most sketchy.
Private sales don't have to be sketchy. Post an ad on Craigslist. Don't give out any personal information. Cash only. Meet in a very public place. I usually meet at my bank. There are a lot of people out there who buy silver, and for any number of reasons prefer to deal in cash. Perhaps they don't want the paper trail, or maybe they don't trust Internet dealers. Most sales that I've done are for 20-40 ounces at a time. It might take a little while to move 300 ounces.
