Most notably with half-dollar rolls, NIFC (not intended for circulation) coins can appear in any coin-roll hunter's hand. Whether the coin was dropped as official specie, its circulating production stopped after a certain year, or it was included solely in mint sets, NIFCs come in numerous shapes and forms. So, I reckon they deserve a bit of recognition in the forums! What are your most interesting NIFC finds insofar? Please feel free to share here, or if you have specifically found any impaired proofs from San Francisco, you can post to a specific thread instead. My best find happens to be a 2012-D Benjamin Harrison presidential dollar coin from a vending machine. It lacked the typical wear-and-tear of a vending machine coin, much to my relief. Here are some crappy-quality pictures below, sorry! HH!
Okay folks, let's get this thread back on track. Treashunt, here are some much crisper photos of the dollar coin out of its plastic case. There is some dirt on the obverse field, towards the center-left; however, the rest of the coin is very crisp and lustrous, lacking much abrasion. Kapimono and Lon Chaney, thank you both for sticking up for me. I very much appreciate your distaste for trollish behavior. Just curious, though, do either of you have any unusual NIFC finds from your CRHing experiences? I'd love to hear 'em
I get a ton of NIFC halves, that's about it. Here's one from today. It'll go on the end roll thread later.
114 post and you are the expert. Troll. See you in 30,000 posts, possibly one or three that make sense.
Not a problem, he is always condescending and rude and I'm not going to be silent anymore. As far as NIFC coins go, I haven't pulled any but I was with a guy that got a silver proof state quarter in change from a coke machine. Pretty good deal.
Happy to say that I completed my 2002-2015 NIFC circulation strike half collection yesterday. Found a 2007-P and a 2010-D to complete it.
I've only found two - both 2010-P half dollars. And both of them were in absolutely terrible condition oddly enough
