I see your fingerprint on the obverse. : ) Still a great looking 54s! Thanks for that link. Hey, is that link in the "Error Coins" forum? These mixed alloy coins are considered errors, correct?

I can assure you that fingerprint does not belong to me! Haha, I never touch the face of a coin, in fact, neither does my wife :p

And yes, they are errors, but the thread was in US Coin Forum (you can see that at the top of the page it says what thread it was in)

Yes, sorry. Now I see it. Discussion in 'US Coins Forum' started by BadThad, Aug 13, 2009

Just wondering, shouldn't that be in the error coin forum? Or doesn't it matter?

As long as it fits into the right category (all Lincolns that are woody are also US coins, so it could go either way) it isn't an issue. It'd be an issue if you put a world error post in US or a Want to Buy in General Discussion, etc. When in serious doubt, I just post in General Discussion, that one's up for grabs.

"Woodies" can be quite attractive...(Minds out of the gutter boys;););))

I visualize Woodies more in the category of "toners" than "errors." Fascinating coins, and a current active interest. :)

 Why? The metal is not toned due to environmental conditions.. it's a mixed alloy issue.
