I rarely have a coin that I would like to 'show', but I have one now.

This is a Trajan Sestertius that was struck c.116 A.D.
It is AE32 mm, and 25.54 gm
Obv. Laureate draped bust of Trajan R.
IMP CAES NER TRAIANO OPTIMO AVG GER DAC PARTHICO P M TR P COS VI PP
Rev. Trajan standing, facing, head right, holding Parazonium and spear. Seated are, Armenia in attitude of mourning at Trajan's feet right. Euphrates and Tigris reclining either side.
ARMENIA ET MESOPOTAMIA IN POTESTATEM PR REDUCTAE
Ref. RIC II Rome 642, RCV 3181, BMCRE 1035, C39, Rare.
Some wear, dark brown patina, a little encrustation remains, clear detail

I like ALL Trajan coins so please post your favourite Trajan up, too.

Yes, wear, but evenly spread, and with a rare and interesting reverse. A keeper even in this condition

I don(t have many Trajan's in my collection but will willingly show them

    Nice sestertius, Topcat!

Here's my Trajan's column denarius again. I love that the depicted monument still stands in Rome.

Thanks. The write-up doesn't say what happened to it, but being made of wood and being functional for only a few decades, I suppose it fell down. Sad, I think. Now if it had been made of stone . . . . .

Nice one Topcat! I really like that reverse. Here's my Trajan Sestertius. This one spent some time in the ground judging from the porous surfaces. But still not bad detail.

@Topcat7 that is a beautiful Trajan. I love the reverse.

Here's mine, Topcat7. I also decided to get this one because of the reverse. I've always had a soft spot for Trajan, so I doubt this will end up being my only Trajan coin.
