Nice one Topcat7 Yes, wear, but evenly spread, and with a rare and interesting reverse. Nice sestertius, Topcat! Here's my Trajan's column denarius again. I love that the depicted monument still stands in Rome.
Congrats on a great find TC This is a bit worn, but I love it Trajan Coin: Bronze As IMPCAESNERVAETRAIANOAVG GERDACPMTRPCOSVPP - Laureate bust right SPQROPTIMOPRINCIPI - Single-span bridge over river Mint: Rome (103-110 A.D.) Wt./Size/Axis: 9.93g / 26mm / - References: RIC 569, As Cohen 543
Wow! Pish. Another reverse I haven't seen. Great coin. Thanks. Do we know what bridge and what river?
Thanks. The write-up doesn't say what happened to it, but being made of wood and being functional for only a few decades, I suppose it fell down. Sad, I think. Now if it had been made of stone . . . . .
Nice one Topcat! I really like that reverse. Here's my Trajan Sestertius. This one spent some time in the ground judging from the porous surfaces. But still not bad detail. @Topcat7 that is a beautiful Trajan. I love the reverse. Here's mine, Topcat7. I also decided to get this one because of the reverse. I've always had a soft spot for Trajan, so I doubt this will end up being my only Trajan coin.
