2015 chinese silver one ounce panda

2015 chinese silver one ounce panda forgot to stamp 1 oz Ag .999 on the obverse. Is that an intentional to create an error. Or simply forgot to include it. Or you Guys tell me.

Posting a photo is your best bet of getting a true answer. My bet is that it is one of those cheap non-silver coins made to look like pandas, but until we see pictures we can't help out much more.

 

Check it at all dealers. They have picture on it. I should say. Click any dealers selling chinese panda. They should have photos.

 

I think it is a design change but may be wrong. TC

 

Fake errors, you say? I say the Chinese are likely to fake anything. If a Panda can be milked, then it surely will be.

No. Panda's didnt have those markings during the first years of the program either.

 

That is why that year is expensive.

 

If they keep introducing these "design changes" it will be as special as a Reverse Proof has become in the US... not very.

 

For 26 years the Panda's didn't have the wording. Only 2009-2014 was it included.

 

One article I read about this indicated that removing the weight designation was the first step toward changing the coin to a metric size to better fit the local China market. Like 30 grams instead of 1 oz/31.1 grams. Something like that. Makes some sense, if true.

The seller hasn't been selling for long. It states it is 1 oz .999 silver but too cheap to seem real.

 

I have a NGC MS70 grade without the .999 yet I bought a Raw capsuled Panda from AMPEX and it had the Ag .999 on it??? I'm not sure what it is I should believe, let me say I also have bought on eBay Panda's from China; I can't tell if any are fake but have ordered a scale so I can weight them before I leave a feedback.

 

If you buy from APMEX, you should be okay. If you buy from an ebay seller, especially FROM China, beware. Especially when the price is ridiculously low. Good luck............

 

I have quite a few different yeared Panda - and love them. Certainly in the UK secondhand market you have to be especially careful of the silver Pandas as fakes are prevalent. eBay seems to have no interest in taking them down when reported.

A great resource for checking against known good is: http://worldsilverbullion.weebly.com and there is a great Panda book available that works very much like a Spink with all the varieties listed.

I think that the panda side of the fake coins are better than the rear with tells more obvious on the steps.

The thing is that if you are buying from the aftermarket internet traders there is no guarantee that the coin that you ordered is the coin that you'll receive. If you buy from a reputable dealer you'll be fine.

 

I am usually a US COIN only collector, just want to have a set 2010 to 2015 Panda's. I fear some are fake, and correction to the AMPEX I bought was a 2014. My usual rule is to buy slabbed and graded, NGC or PCGS, but I'll try and send 4 Pandas back on eBay.
