In the San Diego Union/L.A. Times company, There is a full page Ad for U.S.State Silver bars ( 1 oz. of .999 silver), with Ca. residents getting "first dibs" at state minimum of $57 per bar, while all non-CA non-residents have to pay $134 if any remain :) Or you can get a "Vault brick" containing 5 such bars( 5x $57) ~ buy 2 and they will ship free!!
Federated Mint, 119 Washington Ave. Miami , Fla.

    Special quotes!!!

"Pride runs deep in California...and residents want to get their hands on these !!"

" "These heavy bars are solid .999 pure silver and will always be a valuable precious metal which is why everyone is snapping up as many as they can.. said Mary Ellen Withrow. the now retired 40th Treasurer of the USA"

" The phone lines are ringing off of the hook"

Any other States also get offered silver at such a great premium? Sorry others have to pay $134 an ounce. Funny of the day.

I saw that ad recently here in Fla. Basically the same, but substituting Fla for CAL.

Nothing here in Oregon...dang. I guess we'll have to settle for eight times the price of silver.

I wonder if Mary Ellen Withrow knows about this quote?

I wonder how much she was paid to say this? Maybe the government should revoke her retirement pay.

Everyone is not snatching up silver. I wish they were.

$57.00/ounce is almost four times over spot.
Is there anything special about these "bars"?

Yes. They are being sold by Federated Mint. That alone makes them worth the price.

They feed unrefined bullion to bald eagles and they crap out the bars. CLEARLY, worth the $43 premium to spot. Call now.............1-800-OU812

Got it! This is like the Hawaiian Kopi luwak coffee where the coffee beans are eaten by Asian Palm Civets who also eat cherries, resulting in coffee/cherry/poop that that sells for about $100.00 - $600.00 per pound.

This is SUCH a scam unless u just HAVE to have a "California" bar, but those can be made anywhere. The importance is the silver. One ounce of silver is presently worth about $17 so y do u want to give these scamazerizoids $57? THEY love it .... They make $30 per bar n can buy almost 3 bars with your payment for ONE ounce. Think think think but if u just gotta have a California bar and want to pay 3x spot prices, then go ahead and throw away your money but call me and let me order them for you.

Actually, since we are all stating the obvious, here:

Yes, yes, this is a scam. Thank you for pointing that out.

And this thread is ACTUALLY only 18 months old. Not two years.

If you're actually shopping for silver, you should probably consider enlisting the help of a calculator.
