I thought you were just calling everyone crazy for keeping PM in a safe deposit box.

 

That prolly feels like sending your kids off to a college far away and worrying about their fate while theyre there X.x Although, you do have a nice stash there, and thank you for sharing.

 

But I would not suggest this to anybody else, because it is a very risky move.

 

Is there a specific threat you feel you need to protect this by depositing it in a SDB? Just curious.

There are a few ways to put your SDB at risk but most folks won't have to worry about it. Get in trouble with the IRS or the law and they can come after it.
If you don't pay the bank for the box, they will take the box back. There is a legal process but they will take the box back.

 

With all of the nonsense to bring at times on here, you do have a nice stack. How many ounce do you have there?

 

Imagine how great that stack would look if a majority of the halves weren't 40% !

I don't think they will confiscate coins that were issued by the US government. They are collectibles.
