Wow, went into my bank today and happened to ask if they had Ikes or anything "unusual". Teller said she had 12.00 worth of halves. Asked to look at them, realized lots were silver ones, so I took all of them.

Out of 24 coins, I ended up with

    9.50 (19 coins) in 1964 = at today's silver value 113.25
    .50 (1 coin) in 1966 and 1.00 (2 coins) in 1968 D = today's silver value 7.31

That's 120.56 in silver content alone, and most seem to be about a MS60 .... so adding in the numismatic value ......

    for a total of about
    150.00 - 200.00 $ in FREE MONEY!!!!!!

I is really lazy today. Call it useless if you want. Not like it's some Non-modern issue or an error coin.

This is first time it's happened. The only other wonderful things that have happened is I found a New Mexico Washington Quarter Error coin that I had slabbed and then sold to a dealer for 180.00 and a 1999D WAM which I have not sold yet but is slabbed..... I was CRH on both of those. Otherwise it's been all little stuff like something maybe worth a couple bucks at most or sometimes the odd Franklin or 40% Kennedy. So I have spent lots of hours doing the looking with little to show as far as found things. But it is all informative and fun as a hobby. And the weird coins you can find in rolls.... like one time I got 3$ in Canadian Quarters in a roll of quarters. Mostly I sometimes get a dime or two in the cent rolls or a cent in place of a dime in a dime roll, or Mexican pesos and the things I don't collect. I think a lot of people who come back from their vacation end up taking the opportunity to throw the odd coins they have left over in place of US ones.

I enjoy CRH but am on hiatus from that and I am trying to force myself to ask the tellers if they have anything. Usually they just say no or tell me someone else got the goodies. I was really surprised I got these.

Maybe I'll just sell them on the bay or something. Looks like some people are buying these things. LOL.

That's something to be hyper excited about. especially when you are close to black friday. That $200 will buy something twice that if you wait in line.

I wouldn't believe it - but then in a lot of roll searching this year I have turned up 81 40% silver halves, several hundred silver dimes, several dozen silver nickels and a 1922 Peace dollar myself. Stuff is out there if you are willing to keep up the work to find it. And sometimes like above, you just plain get lucky.

Over the counter purchase. Apparently an older customer cashed it in.
