Wow! That is insane. I never figured that you could get that much just from streets. Heck didn't figure you'd get anything. Good on them however, and it will also be the most extreme for of reuse-recycle. Must be cheaper to go through all that than to just mine it. That's amazing. Great story
You can expect even more insane news articles in the future, as the prices for precious metals are skyrocketing. Here in Norilsk, they are planning to extract Palladium and Platinum from industrial waste accumulated over a period of two decades. With mining reserves of precious metals like Gold and Platinum running out with time, sources like these will contribute more and more to the global supply.
I could see hitting old landfills as an option as well. Once all the biodegradable material has run it's course, the majority of what would be left is metals and plastics. You could make a killing if you had enough of it. Especially from the metals.
was that for real!? I never thought (even in my wildest dream), that you could formulate such brilliant idea from the dust that we hated so much,, (awe).. I did thought it is possible, but i didn't ACTUALLY believe that it is really POSSIBLE.. this news makes me want to sweep the streets and save its dust lol!
