Of all of my bullion, I only have one little measly piece of gold. It's a Mexican coin from 1945. Here is a picture of it I found online.

Based on some research I did, I know that this piece is about .0482 ozt of gold. But does it have a numismatic value?

What is its value? Hard to say. How can you even calculate such a thing today? I would have difficulty trusting my dentist's valuation of my gold crown, at this point! What is it worth to you?

Well, I know what it's worth (in fiat terms) based on the current spot price and the gold content. But I was just wondering about its numismatic value, if there is any. If so, I would love to sell it off and buy more based strictly on the weight.

I believe these coins are going for about $100 on eBay so the numismatic value above spot is minimal. Still its a pretty sweet coin- I'd hold onto it while we watch the price of gold march upward.
