My dad has collected gold coins that you see advertised in magazines and newspapers. He has collected entire collections and he thinks they will be worth a lot of money. Is he right? For instance London Mint sold a collection of every British coin in gold (roughly about £40 for each coin). Does anyone know?
Thank you for the quick reply, Peter. I know it sounded like a very newbie type question but I have always believed in asking if I don't know the answer to something.
Coins are costing more than their intrinsic value. As such as an investment it is always a losing proposition.
Thank for both for the replies. I personally think he will have more enjoyment out of looking at them than money by selling them.
