Would be especially fun to do! Especially to get a chance to go to Mongolia for it. I'd rather take that job than be a straight up miner any day. Has to be a rough living, but it has to be made! Unfortunately I don't have the experience for that one.

That would be a very good job to do but I haven't got the 15 years experience and The missus would never go to Mongolia.

It may be a fun job. But not a job for me. I am not qualified for it anyway. And the thought of packing up and leaving is not appealing to me right now.

Right now everyone is queuing for mining jobs in Australia. Conditions are quite harsh, but the salary is much much better than it is in countries like Russia. Many of my friends have resigned from Norilsk Nickel and taken up jobs in coal and iron ore mines in Australia. They say that a lot of vacancies are still there to be filled.

Mining is highly dangerous. With the Chilean miners incident a while ago. I wouldn't dare go into those death beds. If you're up for the harsh conditionment with the chances of dieing for money. Then go for it :).

This is negative thinking. No job is 100% Hazard free. If you work in the mining sector and if you reside in nations like US or Canada, mining is a very safe profession, and highly rewarding. Mining jobs in China and Russia can be more risky, but the chance of getting trapped in some mining related accident is very low even in those places. It is quite simple - No gain without pain.
