The tokens feature William Pitt, a British politician who gained favor among Americans for his efforts to repeal the Stamp Act. The 1766 farthing and halfpence are probably commemorative medalets although they are commonly called tokens. The Pitt halfpenny, which served as an emergency coinage, is more common than the farthings. The token was one of 2,574 lots of United States coins, medals, tokens and paper money offered during the two-day auction. Of the lots offered, 2,219, or 86.2 percent, were reported sold.

These sound like very interesting coins. I have never heard about them or seen them before.
