Copper has surged from just under $3 per pound to just shy of $4 a pound over the past calendar year. That’s a gain of 33 percent, and that means copper has risen faster than the price of gold over the same period of time

Yeah copper has seen an immense bullish trend the future of may have seen an increase of 6.25 centor 1.4 percent, which settled at $4.4115 a pound on the Comex in New York.In the past 12 months the price has gained 32 percent.

But this rise will decline soon .I always see copper as a scrap metal.

It is risky to investment in copper with the above logic. The prices of copper depends on some other reasons than only the demand and supply, but the prices of gold and silver is totally on demand and supply at international platform.

Gold is worth more lol. I don't bother saving copper. If you said, "I have lots of copper at home" that doesnt sound good. But "I have lots of gold at home" sounds much better!

I would rather take a short position in Copper, as my view of the market is that prices are going to fall even further, China is regarded as the biggest consumer of copper and the govt of China is looking to curtail the inflation in the economy by applying contractionary monetary policy which will decrease the aggregate demand of Chinese consumers and further decrease the price of Copper.
I even made a detailed thread on this issue, theres a whole a lot of information on copper there.

If you alredy have copper that doesn't mean just throw it away. It has value, just not a long term investment value.

It is always good , you may release copper when the prices are high. Why should one consider a selling of copper very cheap?

I am not really a fan of copper. But it is great that it is rising like that. That big of a gain is pretty good.

That is true only. The money from coper should have re invested into other metals. So you have chance to invest in bullion and have a shift from copper junk.

Maybe it's a good diversification plan? A good bit of Gold, Silver, and a little bit of Copper on the side? Better to have more options than to throw all your apples in one basket in my opinion.

With copper you buy it and sell when the prices are right. But be prepared for a wait with current prices.
