    Hi all.......

I am new here. Trying to figure out how to tell if you
have authentic 1955 double die copper penny. I have one that my mother saved for me years ago. I need some advice. Thanks.

Also, what would be the best site to go to to evaluate value of other coins I have?

    Thanks!

If it is a common 1955 cent, it is probably worth only about 3 cents. There are extraordinary 1955 cents that are worth much more, but one should expect that probability to be very small. Only with a photo of both sides could one tell reasonably. But he probably should expect no more than the low value. I know that seems like ancient history to a young person, but in coins , it is recent times.

1955 does seem kind of ancient to me.
