Is it me, or are decent priced silver Libertads that hard to find??

Yeah, anytime. There is still a remote chance I'll make the Vegas show. Who knows.

I typically don't miss a Long Beach Show, so you can pick all you want.

Well, I'll be there but don't know which day yet. Probably the first day in case I want to come back for another shot at something.

Yeah, I go the first day, but not with much money so I don't buy on impulse. I buy the best deals I can and makes notes on what I want to buy the next day. Then I come home sit and ponder my coin thoughts over a drink and maybe a cigar, then plan my strategy for the next day. :D

ocjoe you sound a little like me. I cruise the whole floor maybe a couple times looking, trying to take a note or two about something I see I like before I do anything.

That would have to be one really big thumb with straight whorls and ridges to be a real print on that coin. I don't care anyway cause I like it.

I think if I lived in Mexico I would be looking for 8 reales. There must be a lot around with all sorts of mint marks. They used to be cheap here, because nobody knew what they were, but nowadays we have to pay much more than melt for them. I have some libertads, but they are hard to find nowadays too.

I just sold a few 8 reales. The premiums have come down a bit. You can get them for 26-28 dollars for average ones. They do up quickly from there though that's for sure.

$26-$28 seems like an okay price for 8 reales. I used to be able to pick them up for melt, but those days are long gone now I guess...

Melt?!?!?! Yeah, those were good times I remember. That would be like buying them right now for under $15.00.

Pretty much all bullion right now is carrying a premium. It's crazy but I think a sign of the times. It will eventually come back down, but I think we're stuck with the premiums at least until the average person keeps driving demand. What really gets me is the premium on 1/10 ounce gold. I'm not seeing anything for less than about 160 now, most 180 or more. My wife collects world gold. She likes raw bullion type uncirculated pieces. Getting harder to find reasonably-priced.

I met these people at the Long Beach Coin Show years ago, and they still attend. $140 is sale price at the shows this time around. Online it is $145.00 Maybe they'll take $140 if you call them up and order a few. That's about the best I can find.
