    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Actually, no. It was discussed on the show how Chumlee got his nickname.

They are TV stars now, they can make more money doing other things than working in the shop. (they can have someone fill in their spot for probably $15-$20 an hour)

I like them and would love to own the Richard Sr. auto. I love vegas and the show so I guess its to each their own.

They will own the pawn shop until the series ends. Then they will sell it and take a permanent leave of absence, from this type of business, all together. With the money they have made, different opportunities will be much more lucrative for all concerned. However, I don't see their silver art bars increasing in value because of it. If fact, out of site out of mind. The art bars may all end up being simple souvenirs from the show but with intrinsic value. IMHO.

The coins do seem to hold value on ebay, it might be one of those coins to dump before the value disappears. Once the show ends its doubtful the coins will hold value after that.

Sounds like a complete wast of perfectly good money. (mhp)

    To each his/her own.....
I bought 2 of the "Old Man" rounds back when they first came out. I love the show and my wife and I love the Old Man. I think I paid $60 each for them, if I remember correctly. Will I ever get my money back out of them, no, and I don't give a rat's butt. I collect what I like. When I die my kids will get whatever they get for them and they'll be happy about it, since they cost them nothing.

I am the same way I love the show Pacecar we were in the shop and my wife was like you know you want it just go buy it. We didn't buy much in the shop I think I got her a couple of shot glasses as she collects shot glasses and I got the coin for me. It was more of just a curiosity thing to go in as we were staying at the stratosphere like half a mile from there shop.

Its why I was thinking of adding the Chumlee coin, I am just balking at overpaying twice.

You gotta admit this was a great scheme for them to make money though, they bought that huge silver load broke off a portion and minted there own coins which there are selling at a %200 markup over what they could have just gotten for the silver.

In a few years nobody will know who Pawn Stars are (were) and your "investment" will be worth no more than the spot price, or less, of the metal content, whatever than is.

I'm not even sure "Jeff" really sold them all of that silver. He was in another episode trying to sell a chop-marked AU details NGC trade dollar. My guess is that they wanted to talk about the Richard's silver obsession and got all the silver they had in inventory for the shoot. Either that or they worked out a deal with their refiner to "borrow" the silver. It's similar to how Rick Dale's brother sold them an item that they then took to Rick's Restoration to fix. Funny show, nevertheless, and if you view it as comedy rather than reality TV, it's far more enjoyable.

I have an old man and a chumlee. I like them, but if they weren't given to me as a gift, I probably would have never bought them.

Did anybody see the episode with Charmey?
