Hello again! It's been a while, no? Just finally getting back from New Zealand...haven't picked up a collectible coin in two months. So, I'd like to say HEY everyone, I missed you, I missed talking coins with you, and did I miss any interesting stories/finds/news?
Thanks for the note about the web link. Pretty sure I have it fixed now (I think it was on CT's end, because the web address was correct. Once I deleted the signature, saved it, and put the same address back in, it works...so maybe an old address was saved in CT's cache somewhere...) Yes, I do need to buy a coin...or a few! Or maybe look through my collection to see what I even have!
If you've been gone that long, I think you missed a couple of great finds . . . Some guy dug up an AU details 1927-S SLQ in his deceased father's basement, and another guy from England bought an AU 1916/16 Buffalo nickel with a bunch of other junk coins from a storage container for well under $100 (other CT members please correct me if my quick regurgitation of these stories needs refinement).
Ha ha ha...yes, well played Mr. vlaha sir. Sounds like a couple of great finds, ToughCOINS! I'll have to go back through the threads and find them. I'd post some photos of a couple Jeffersons I picked up the other day, but my camera is currently off to Nikon for service (there is an issue where the mirror flings oil onto the sensor...so I have about 3,000 photos from New Zealand that have a couple hundred spots I need to Photoshop out...)
Some things you missed: A major CT feature was released, and then pulled. It is great, and I'm sure it will be back. The Gallery. I released a Master List of Dealers. I updated and expanded a Master List of Post Your Coins. I am currently working on compiling some interesting stats and lists about CT. I am harvesting a massive amount of data so I can do all sorts of fun analysis. (to be released in about a week).
