I don't like any of these options I would contact my friend Asadulah. He would know what to do http://www.moviefanatic.com/quotes/you-know-what-i-would-do-if-i-had-a-million-dollars-i-would-inve/
Of course I'd have to go with owning the $10,000 simply because this artificial economy seems to be riding the tide so well. In my mind, cash or the dollar should hold it's own and be on top, for at least the next 10yrs. As far as the other two and just because it's make believe, this is what I'd go with. 7 ounces of gold coin in the form of quarter eagles and half eagles. Indian Heads to start with and 500 American Silver Eagles. Maybe I'll win PowerBall for thinking like this, I can only hope and pray.
Given the options, and that we get to choose what form the bullion comes in, and I'm suspecting that conditional rarities are not a realistic option, I'm thinking I would like 140x 1/20th ounce Canadian Maples, or possibly 70x assorted 1/10th oz gold coins. Should I send my shipping address in a PM?
Interesting responses. As for the ones against being excited... you are defining that as an emotional only factor. A serious investor controls their emotion, embraces it. If you value something you will be more likely to take care of it. Personally I value PMs more than cash. I have friends that encapsulate silver dollars yet will lose $50 on a poker hand like it was nothing. I'd say their emotional attachment to silver demonstrates better wealth preservation than their view of cash.
Today, (if they were of equal value), I would probably go with the silver. I do not know where I would PUT this silver, since my sdb is full, but I do think it might be the best choice. I guess I woul couch this that I would say silver if they were some sort of government issued 1 ouncers, not rounds/bars which I do not like. If you held me strict to your original post, I would take the 7 buffalos instead of the cash or 500 ounces of rounds. My whole point of pm is some day I will want to sell it. Walking into someplace to sell will be MUCH easier with 7 buffalos than 500 random rounds I believe.
