So, again, you simply want the PM section to be a "rah rah, aren't we all so smart because we buy pm and the rest of the world are simply stupid" section? Some place to come and get unconditionally reassured that you are brilliant simply because you buy pm? I believe some people want that, but to me that is a waste. Why read anything at all if you know it all?

I guess I am just stupid. I am open to the possibility of learning and being proven wrong. That is why I prefer somewhere that my assumptions and world view get challenged. In Mike's, (and maybe my) defense some of us here were strongly warning people on CT that pm was simply on an unsustainable path a couple of years ago, and should not be bought at those prices. I sleep well at night thinking MAYBE I stopped some people from buying a bunch of silver at $40 an ounce.

Btw, you REALLY think there is some nefarious group out there that pays people to GENERICALLY recommend equities on a pm site? WHO? Sorry, but to bring up or believe that anyone not in complete agreement with you must be a paid plant I believe shows how shaky your argument for believing what you believe is. You have to assume other opinions have to be shills because of course you HAVE to be right?

That is why I said their investment strategies would need to evolve. I totally understand what the mindset is now. I also said it was only speculation on my part. Is it really a stretch that these new investors would switch from a wealth preserving strategy to a wealth building strategy?

So not disputing that you're a shill? Do the pharmas want somebody from the inside to take the opposite view as Ted Butler and you're it?

Me too, the only difference is when I bought silver at $ 40 + the year was 1979. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Paid shills are well documented. It has nothing to do with me being right, its like I've already stated, if someone posts relentlessly bashing something its not normal and is either indicative of a desire for attention or something else. (Like being a paid poster)

I thought silver was getting ridiculous at at $12.50 so I stopped buying. I am into most of mine at about $6.50 an ounce. Been piecing it out ever since, mostly over $20.

I sure have seen people bash individual stocks all of the time on stock boards. This is as comm on as people praising them. Gold really is equivalent to one stock, and everyone will have their own opinion as to its value, that is why prices change everyday. Just because he does not agree with you does not make his views any less valid.

Btw, who would pay someone to be a shill recommending all stocks? Did all Russell 2000 companies get together to fund some kind of nefarious plot? What about me and others who disagree with your world view? Are everyone paid shills who disagree with you including me?

I thought we were on the pm investing FORUM, you know, a place e to freely discuss ideas? I didn't know Peter wanted you to change it to the "pm is the only worthwhile investment at any price, and anyone who says otherwise is on the payroll of the evil banksters" rah rah club.

i also bought most of my silver at around $6.5 an ounce at flea markets when the spot price was around $8.5. i put my $700 life savings into it and by 2011 i had multiplied my money by 7. unfortunately, i thought it would be a good idea to buy again at $35 :( (thank goodness i only put $370 into it at that price). i quit buying when it kept bouncing between $19 and $21 but all the dealers and flea markets were selling at $24-$27. if it drops to $15 i will buy again.

Apparently you don't understand basic logic, no further discussion is necessary :)

Awesome comeback Tinpot, you can't argue a single point so you just say your mind is too small to grasp the concept. Typical.....

As a relative newbie to the hobby and this forum I do enjoy the back-and-forth dialogue. I learn a tremendous amount from you more experienced and passionate participants.

That is kind of the point of a forum. Disagree/agree, I don't care, but listening to a logical discussion of both sides I believe is a healthy way to learn and challength your own beliefs. I will admit I have changed my mind on more than a few things since joining CT. To have your mind made up, though, and intentionally refuse to listen to someone who does not agree with you, I feel completely eliminates any chance of learning.

So, as a newbie, listen to everyone's points and then make up your own mind. Never trust anyone when it comes to your investment dollars, educate yourself. :)
