was wondering if anyone knows anything about this bullion coin? I found it in the bottom of the cash register at work. no one claimed it in 3 months after asking around so the manager let me take it. they figured it was from someone recently fired (will make a nice collection piece besides the scrape on the back. looks like someone scraped it with their knife)
It's called a NORFED Dollar. Long, long story but quite interesting. Look it up. Good reading. Hope this helps.
There are a lot of different opinions on the matter, some official, some not, but there does seem to be a consensus that they are not illegal to possess.
And if they are illegal to sell, I haven't seen the law enforced. That coin (erm.. "round," rather) has been fetching $30-$80 on EBay. Great find!
Thanks it seemed cool when I found it had all I could do not to pocket it lol Sent from my Z750C using Tapatalk
Aaron: Great find! Do not let that one go for melt. Some of these are quite collectible and highly sought after. TC
Oh this one won't go for melt, only issue with it though is a spot on the back it looks like someone dug it with a pocket knife for testing or something Sent from my Z750C using Tapatalk
Interesting that it was found in a cash register. Someone must have thought it was a $20 legal tender coin which is why they got in trouble in the first place.
