If you are still suffering withdrawal symptoms since the end of the Canada Wildlife Series, never fear! The Birds of Prey series begins soon with the Peregrine Falcon. There will be 4 coins in the series , 2 per year for the next 2 years. Some dealers are already doing presales on the coin. There will be both a bullion and a proof version. Mintage will be 1 million for each bullion coin. Below is the reverse.

I assume that because it's a bullion coin it would be spot plus X.

Yep. Provident currently has them priced around $24.00.

There's rumour that these new bullions will be using the same process as the 2014 sml so it won't have milk spots. Again, it's a rumour

    That's a nice looking coin for $24.00

  8. I'm in for the bullion issue. I like the design and the cost is just above spot silver. TC

I like the design as well and will be getting the bullion version only. I did notice, like treehugger, mentioned that Provident was having a presale. I was debating on whether or not to add the coin to my order. Since they were going to delay shipping all the coins until this coin was available I decided to pass for now and get it when it's actually available.

Withdrawals from lack of product from the Canadian mint? Is there another mint in the world that has MORE coins out every year? When I see the ad from the Canadian dealer in WCN every month showing like 96 current year coin offerings from this one mint only two words come to mind: Franklin Mint.

I have to agree. I think the RCM is putting out way too many coins and a lot of the coins they do put out are way overpriced. I wonder how much money someone would spend if they tried to get every coin that the RCM put out in one year.

Even with the bullion that contains privy marks. I can understand that they have privy marks for the Lunar series but one for the Leaning tower of Pisa, one for the Titanic? Really? Come on!! lol

It doesn't look that great (just a blank background?)

  14. Not sure how much you are buying from them, but they have certain items that if you add one of them to your cart, the whole order ships free. Many of these items are overpriced but one of these items used to be some Canadian silver for close to silver spot.

Yeah I've seen that but usually the items you needed to add aren't ones that I'm interested in. :) But thanks for the reminder!!

Guess the RCM added the Leaning Tower because the piece commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Piazza dei Miracoli (including the tower) becoming part the Unesco World Heritage. So a piece with such a mark is about as odd, or not, as "coins" with prehistoric animals that glow in the dark. :D

Lol good point Christian!! Sometimes I wonder where the RCM gets ideas for its coins but at least they're thinking outside the box compared to the US Mint. Well not so much the US Mint per se but the legislation that is created that dictates the designs of the coins
